SPEAKERS CORNER/LIBRARY/PODCAST
The voices of New Wortley are perceived as imbalanced by the people who live there. The loudest voices can often dominate the conversation of the community and leave the quietest to go unheard. Issues that are crucial to some: Mental health, politics, community improvement and social issues are often swept away by the person speaking the loudest. Some members of New Wortley have expressed that they simply forfeit their say because they have become accustomed to their views being dampened by others.
On a wider scale, this imbalance persists, New Wortley as a community needs a louder voice in Leeds and the greater area. Therefore, the sum of activity and discussion in this pop-up (the community microcosm) that exists in the proposal, will be broadcast in the podcast booth at the heart of the scheme, for Leeds to hear New Wortley's community spirit.
